Principle of rotary sand dryer
Sand is delivered to the hopper by belt conveyor or bucket elevator and enters the feeding end from the feeding pipeline through the hopper feeder. The inclination of feeding pipeline shall be larger than the natural dip angle of material so that the material can flow into the rotary sand dryer smoothly. The rotating cylinder of dryer is slightly inclined to the horizontal line, so the material can be filled from high end and the heating medium can enter from the lower end and in countercurrent contact with the material. However, some heating medium and materials may flow into the cylinder together and delivered to the lower end with the rolling materials under the action of gravity. When the wet material moves forward in the cylinder, heating medium is directly or indirectly heated, so that the wet material can be dried and discharged from the discharging end through belt conveyor or spiral conveyer.
A shoveling plate is installed on the inner cylinder wall of rotary sand dryer to lift and scatter the materials, increase the contact area between the materials and air flow, improve the drying rate and push the materials forward. The heating medium includes hot air and flue gas. Generally, the materials in the air can be captured by cyclone dust collector. However, if it is necessary to reduce the dust content of exhaust gas, bag filter or hydrofilter shall be used before discharging.
