Overview of foundry sand dryer
WAN TAI foundry sand dryer is a kind of new drying equipment with three-layer rotating cylinders and developed based on the cylinder dryer. It has the advantages of large output, low energy consumption and simple maintenance, widely applied to the industries such as building materials, metallurgy, chemical engineering and cement processing and can be used for drying the materials which are resistant to high temperature and slightly polluted, such as quartz sand, mineral powder, limestone, pulverized coal, quartz sand, clay, yellow sand, foundry sand, scrub sand, metal finished ore and tailings.
Performance of foundry sand dryer
1. Strong anti-overload capacity, large processing capacity, less fuel consumption and low drying cost;
2. The dryer utilizes concurrent-flow drying process, that is, flue gas and wet materials enter the dryer from the same side so as to realize a high evaporation intensity by means of high-temperature flue gas, low outlet temperature and high thermal efficiency;
3. The operation parameters can be changed according to different materials so that the material can form a stable full-section curtain in the cylinder and realize sufficient mass-heat exchange;
4. The new feeding and discharging devices can avoid blocking, discontinuous and non-uniform feeding and material return, and reduce the load of dust removal system;
5. The new internal structure strengthens the sweeping and heat transfer effect of dispersed materials, eliminates the adhesion on inner wall and is more adaptive to the moisture and viscosity of materials.
Drying process of foundry sand dryer
It is sent to the hopper by the belt conveyor or bucket elevator. The feeder passing through the hopper enters the feeding end through the feeding pipe. The inclination of the feeding pipe is greater than the natural inclination of the material, so that the material can flow into the casting sand dryer smoothly. The dryer cylinder is a rotating cylinder slightly inclined to the horizontal line. The material is added from the higher end. The heat carrier enters from the lower end and contacts with the material in a countercurrent manner. There are also heat carriers flowing into the cylinder together with the material.
As the rotating material of the cylinder moves to the lower end under the action of gravity, the wet material moves forward in the cylinder body, directly or indirectly gets the heat supply of the heat carrier, so that the wet material can be dried, and then sent out through the belt conveyor or screw conveyor at the discharge end. The inner wall of the casting sand dryer is equipped with a reading board, which is used to pick up and drop the materials, increase the contact surface between the materials and the air flow, improve the drying rate and promote the materials forward.
